Project summary:

Spain is one of the main tourist destinations in the world and has a particularly strong service infrastructure. In addition, tourism is essential for the Spanish economy, both in terms of employment and its contribution to the Gross Domestic Product, being the hotel sector one of its main pillars. However, this sector faces significant challenges arouse from the international economic situation and the high rivalry between companies.

In this context, the project is structured around five research lines that aim to advance the knowledge of business reality and the market. These lines address the analysis of the advertising investment efficiency of hotel companies as well as the hotel sector at the regional level, the analysis of rivalry between airlines through several strategic instruments, the description of the dominant profile of the camping tourist based on its human values, and the analysis of the behavior of responsible use of water by tourists.
